Over time, the lakes at Conway Park and the Golf Courses have received a large volume of sediment. As a result, the lakes have become shallower. At Conway Park, the depth of the lake is no longer deep enough for a fountain to be able to property function. At the Golf Course, sediment buildup contributes to foul smells that distract golfers. At both lakes, additional suspended solids have a negative impact on water quality. In the design phase, the depth of sediment will be measured, and then the amount of dredging required and the dredging methodology can be determined. Conway Park Lake is planned to be dredged in FY2025, and the Golf Course lakes is planned to be dredged in FY2027. Both project locations may include the installation of a forebay to settle out suspended solids, which will extend the amount of time before the lakes likely need to be dredged again. Project is City of Creve Coeur capital budget FY2025-2029. As of November 3, 2025, this project is in design.
