The purpose of this Request for Proposal ('RFP') is to invite Proposals for the reconstruction of the existing running track and at Swangard Stadium in the City of Burnaby ('City'), British Columbia, Canada. The track at Swangard Stadium is a World Athletics competition level 8-lane track and field facility with javelin, steeplechase, long jump/triple jump, high jump, pole vault and throwing event areas. The objective of this project is to replace the existing rubberized surfacing. The proposed work generally includes the following: 1. The removal and legal off-site disposal of full pour cast-in-place synthetic running track surfacing, 2. The grinding of any high areas and the filling of any low areas. The milling of required areas to achieve the correct depth for surfacing at the long/triple jump, the pole vault, the javelin, the high jump, and the steeplechase pit; 3. Review and accept in writing, in the presence of the Consultant, the asphalt base planarity once the Contractor has completed the removal of the existing track surface and remediated any planarity issues with the existing asphalt surface by grinding high spots and filling low spots. The installation of the new track surface cannot commence until the written acceptance is provided; 4. Supply and installation over an existing asphalt base of a synthetic running track surfacing, as detailed herein; 5. The accurate surveying and layout of the specified work program, including the painting of lines and event markings; 6. Complete site clean-up is required upon completion of the Work; 7. Complete the required testing, the completion of the application and its submission and the passing of the World Athletics Class 1, construction category 4, certification process; and 8.
