Pender County is seeking Statements of Qualifications from NC licensed engineering firms to provide design, engineering, permitting and construction contract administration for the completion of a public park expansion. The Kiwanis Park in Hampstead, NC is located less than 1 mile off Highway 17 and has been a generational facility that has grown over the past 18 years. An expansion phase for the park has been approved for construction and has received partial grant funding to have a completion by the September 2025. This expansion phase will include two (2) multipurpose fields, six (6) tennis courts, four (4) pickleball courts, two (2) outdoor basketball courts, a multi-use path (2000 linear feet), a playground, a lawn game area, a picnic shelter/restroom facility, and parking. The budget for this project is $2,000,000 and completion is required by September 2025. Questions must be emailed to purchasing@pendercountync.gov no later than May 1, 2023 at 2pm. Interviews with short list firms will be conducted on May 22-24, 2023. MWBE or HUB certified firms are encouraged to participate. Pender County reserves the right to waive formalities and interview responding firms, and to reject any or all responses.
