The Tourism and Culture division, Planning and Economic Development department of the City of Hamilton requires the Prequalification of Contractors for Work on its inventory of heritage buildings and sites. The following contractor categories will be evaluated in this Request for Prequalification - Category 1 - Heritage General Contractors - Category 2 - Heritage Masonry Contractors The Tourism and Culture division is responsible for approximately 40 City-owned heritage properties which includes buildings at 5 National Historic Sites (NHS), including the City's civic museums and numerous buildings designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. The Work will include a variety of exterior and interior building restoration that requires specialized experience in the conservation, restoration, renovation and rehabilitation of heritage buildings. Bid submissions received from prequalified Applicants on heritage conservation projects as a result of this Request for Prequalification will be considered for future specified tendered projects over $100,000 during the three-year period August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026 TIMELINE: Request for Qualifications for heritage and masonry general contractors has closed and been awarded. Projects will be tendered and awarded to pre-qualified contractors as needed. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
