Bids must be delivered to the Town of Derry in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Sealed Bid, Catch Basin Cleaning". The contractor will be responsible for cleaning catch basins within the Town of Derry with the use of a "vactor" type catch basin cleaner. Due to the inability to completely empty a sump of liquid and solids for inspection, clamshell style catch basin cleaners will not be considered for this bid. The Town of Derry will provide the contractor with an employee from the Public Works Department to provide traffic control. Water for the catch basin cleaner units will be available at the Waste water treatment plant at Transfer Lane. All waste collected will be dumped at the Derry Transfer Station in a predetermined area. Payment will be made on a unit price per catch basin cleaned regardless of the volume of material removed from a catch basin. Basins will be inspected by a representative of the Public Works Department to ensure the catch basin has been thoroughly cleaned. The quantity of catch basins to be cleaned is an estimate and may be adjusted based on the available funding and cost of cleaning each catch basin. An estimated 750 (Seven Hundred and Fifty) catch basins will be cleaned under this contract. The contractor must supply the Town of Derry with a certificate of insurance for a minimum of $1,000,000.00 liability insurance.
