Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Albany, New York. Working plans call for the addition of a 17,338-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide design and construction administration services . Home Economics is currently vacant but will house Agricultural Business academic programs and workforce innovation hub. Home Economics was constructed in 1916 and was one of the first buildings constructed on the original campus quad. The building is 11,638 gross square feet and is 3 stories. This renovation will construct a 21st-century learning environment that engages a wide range of students and adult learners to meet New York's diverse workforce demands. This project will repair the building envelope including masonry repair, slate roof replacement, insulation as well as new doors and windows. Elevators, exit stairs, toilet rooms and internal circulation will be provided to make the building code compliant. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems will all be removed and replaced. All interior finishes will be replaced, poorly constructed structures on the back (east) side of the building will be demolished and in their place a new 5,700 GSF one story addition will be added.
