Site work and paving for a road / highway in Birmingham, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of July 10, 2023 the project is awarded to Asphalt Specialist, Inc. , awarded amount is $930,033.50. Sealed proposals endorsed "2023 ASPHALT PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROGRAM #07-23(P)" will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham. This project will include various pavement resurfacing and rehabilitation measures installed over existing roadways throughout the City of Birmingham to extend the pavement service life, along with localized subsurface repairs. localized water main improvements on Grant St., Cart Path rehabilitation at Springdale Golf Course, and utility trench repairs at various locations throughout the City of Birmingham. Major work items include: Approximately 9,400 square yards of pavement milling, 235 tons of HMA 4EML, 1,270 tons of HMA 5EML resurfacing, 400 Ft. of ductile iron water main improvements, 0.5 roadbed mile of crack sealing on local streets, pathway improvements at 4 locations at Springdale Golf Course and localized subgrade improvement, with curb & gutter, ADA ramp and sidewalk improvements. Bidders shall review and comply with all Contract Documents, and supplemental information, as defined in the Information For Bidders. Payment shall be in the form of a check made payable to the City of Birmingham, which must be received prior to mailing of plans and specifications. Bidding documents may also be shipped by Federal Express, upon receipt of the $30.00 payment noted above, and a Federal Express number to pay for shipping costs. Bidding documents for the project may be also obtained through the Michigan Inter-Governmental Trade Network (MITN), which may be accessed online. Vendors wishing to obtain copies of the bidding documents will need to register through the MITN website. The successful bidder shall be required to post bonds, and to comply with the contract requirements of the City Charter. Bids are firm, and no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after opening of bids. Procurement for the City of Birmingham will be handled in a manner providing fair opportunity for all businesses. This will be accomplished without abrogation or sacrifice of quality and as determined to be in the best interest of the City of Birmingham. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any irregularity in any of the bid proposals submitted, and to accept any proposal which it shall deem to be the most favorable to the interest of the City. A certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid must accompany each bid proposal.
