Site work for a water / sewer project in Athens, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of 7/13/2023, this project has not been awarded yet. The City of Athens is currently soliciting quotations for the repair and rehabilitation of final clarifier gearbox at our West Wastewater treatment plant. The selected Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, and materials to remove drive motor and gearbox, transport the items to Contractor's facility to repair, then return and reset the motor and gearbox. Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating crane services, blocking and securing rake, disconnecting motor, and removing the gearbox from clarifier bridge. Consideration shall be given to the anticipated time needed to rehabilitate the equipment. Contractors shall indicate the amount of time (in days) needed to complete the repair, including lead time for parts, on the quotation. A liquidated damage amount of .02% per day shall be assessed for each calendar beyond the number of days indicated starting from the date Contractor removes the gearbox from the clarifier. The Contractor shall agree to deduct the liquidated damage amount from the final invoice. (Updated 5/12/23) The City reserves the right to establish that these insurance requirements are met and complied with prior to any contractual agreement being entered into. The cost of such insurance is the service provider's responsibility. Failure to comply could result in non-award of the contract.
