Renovation of a detention facility in Hernando, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Bid proposals must be submitted, in duplicate, on copies of the General Construction Bid Form included in the specifications and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or cash in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid (100%). The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Performance and Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder. Bids are requested for a Lump Sum Base Bid with any Alternates and/or Unit Costs requested. In the event that an electronic bid is submitted, a copy of the bid bond must be included with the submission. If submitting electronically, a hard copy of all bid documents must be provided within 3 business days if requested after the bid opening. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities. A. The Project consists of the renovation of the DeSoto County Juvenile Detention Center located at 311 W South St Hernando, MS 38632. The renovation includes the modification of an existing kitchen area to educational space, renovation of existing holding area into another classroom space, and the renovation of two cell block areas to new juvenile detention areas. a. Kitchen area renovation - Includes new mechanical, new ceilings, new lighting, new partitions, doors, and flooring. All existing kitchen equipment is to be removed. All existing tile to be removed. All floor drains to be terminated and the slab patched. Existing coolers and freezers to be removed and the surrounding building addition around them. The openings are to be filled with matching depth CMU, rigid insulation, fluid applied moisture barrier, brick ties, and matching brick. New detention rated ceilings to be installed in both rooms. Fire suppression system and fire alarm updates to area. New mechanical system and air distribution in these areas. b. Existing holding area renovations - Includes the removal of all existing plumbing fixtures, existing wall tile at fixtures, existing surrounding partitions and the floor tile and mud bed. The floor drains and plumbing drains are to be terminated and slab filled back level with concrete slab. The room is to have new electrical service, data service, lighting. Existing mechanical to remain. New acoustic wall panels. New flooring. New wall base. c. Cell Block Renovations - Demo to include the removal of all flooring throughout and the plumbing fixtures are to be removed in the day room. New showers to be installed in the day room. Plaster ceiling below the Second floor to be modified for new utilitie installation. New resinous flooring to be installed throughout the day room, each cell area, and the upper balcony. All walls are to be cleaned, primed, and repainted. All cell doors to be lubricated for smooth operation. All new lights to be installed in the cell areas and day room. All plumbing fixtures are to be replaced and replumbed. Mechanical system upgrades to include louver replacement at the day room and louvers to be repainted at the cells. All cell doors to be ground smooth, primed and painted. Wall paint prep to include patching any holes with non-shrink grout. d. Alternate #1 - The entire fire alarm system is to be replaced for the entire building, all devices and main fire alarm control panel. See FA / Electrical Sheets.
