This project provides for water utility improvements in the Southbridge Industrial Park to support its growth and the attraction of new industries to the area. This project also supports the infrastructure that will improve water service and reliability to the current industries. The currently identified projects are a loop of the current 16" water main on Port Neal Rd by adding a finished water line on 225th Street heading west to Allison Ave. and then heading South on Allison. This CIP also includes the addition of a water tower in the Southbridge Industrial Park area to provide fire protection and water reliability. The FY 2023 money is set aside to evaluate the need for an additional variable frequency drive (VFD) at the southbridge plant. As demands increase, another VFD would improve efficiency and allow flexible operation of the plant until demands meet design capacity. This project is consistent with the Water Master Plan and the Southbridge Development Plan. When Economic Development lands large water users in the Southbridge Development area the unprogrammed funding will need to move forward to support such businesses. This project is included in the fy 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program.
