Site work and new construction of a civil project in Sioux City, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

This CIP allows for new water infrastructure to be placed along Outer Drive extended, 28th Street, the Hwy 75 bypass, and South to accommodate expected growth soon. As development is beginning along Outer Drive and 28th Street, concerns have been raised regarding water pressure in the area with the construction of the new jail. With that, there are several other parcels in this area that will be developed in the near future creating the need for water infrastructure in order to provide a reliable source of pressure. A study was completed, and the best approach was determined to be constructing a new booster station, drawing from Grandview pressure, feeding a new elevated storage tank to supply this area. Opinions of probable construction cost were provided to Council as the estimates were more than the allocation of American Rescue Funds. Staff is working to secure SRL money to fund the project. Relationship to Other Projects: The Outer Drive Booster Station project has been included in this project, moved from CIP# 519-132. As of August 21, 2024, this project is in the conceptual phase. A design firm has not been selected. It is included in the City of Sioux City Fiscal Year 2025-2029 and funding is allotted for FY 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
