Reference Number 0000320238 Questions are submitted online No Odor control system improvements will generally include removing the existing sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide bulk chemical storage tanks, chemical metering pumps, piping, valves, instruments, controls, appurtenances and associated electrical equipment and installing new; installing new process mechanical equipment, electrical gear, instruments and controls associated with the chemical scrubbing units used for odor control; installing new building heating and ventilating system equipment for the entire odor control building; installing new removeable panels in the exterior walls of the odor control building to facilitate the installation of the new bulk chemical storage tanks; installing new electrical equipment and gear on a new reinforced concrete pad on the exterior of the odor control building; and other miscellaneous architectural, structural, process mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and electrical construction work. The project also include the rehabilitation of the existing influent well at the facility. The existing influent well receives and collects all raw sewage that flows into the wastewater treatment facility. The existing influent well is a steel reinforced cast-in-place concrete structure with a paneled cover system to contain odors within the structure. The concrete and steel reinforcement is deteriorated and the principle construction work at the influent well involves removing deteriorated, weak concrete and corroded reinforcement steel to resilient surfaces and installing new reinforcement steel and cast concrete to restore the structural integrity of the influent well. A new cover system with several pipe penetrations will also be installed on top of the influent well. To allow for the construction work to be performed inside the influent well, the Contractor must construct and install a temporary bypass system around the existing influent well and maintain this bypass throughout the duration of construction. This temporary bypass is essential to maintain YCUA's ability to collect and treat raw sewage during the construction project. The project also involves installing new sump pumping units, discharge piping, pipe insulation, pipeline heat tracing, and associated instruments, controls and electrical to convey air scrubber discharge wastewater from the building basement sump to the above-grade, outdoor grit tanks.
