Refurbishment of Air Handling Units at Ben Taub Hospital Phase IV for the Harris County Hospital District dba Harris Health System DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The purpose of this Work is for the Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to provide new components for a total of nineteen (19) existing air handling units that serve the Ben Taub Hospital, located at 1504 Taub Loop, Houston, Texas such that all specified components result in a complete and operational system in accordance with the Contract Documents. 1. Basement Equipment Room: Eight (8) air handling units AHU-B-5, AHU-B-6, AHU-B-7, and AHU-B8, AHU-B-9, AHU-B-10, AHU-B-11, and AHU-B-12. 2. Penthouse: Eleven (11) air handling units AHU-P-4, AHU-P-5, AHU-P- 6, AHU-P-7, AHU-P-8, AHUP-9, AHU-P-10, AHU-P-11, AHU-P-12, AHU-P-13, and AHU-P-14. B. Work also includes all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to provide a new exhaust system for the grease interceptor room, also located at 1504 Taub Loop, Houston, Texas such that all specified components result in a complete and operational system in accordance with the Contract Documents. 1.2 PRE-BID MEETING A. Bidders and cooling tower subcontractor attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Walk-through is mandatory in order to submit a Bid. Bidders and subcontractors shall check-in at the Main Hospital entrance for screening and then meet at the Facilities Engineering office in the Basement Level. 1.3 SITE INVESTIGATION A. Examination and familiarization of the project site, existing structures, and all existing conditions is the responsibility of each Bidder before the Bidder prepares and submits their Bid. B. It is understood that the Contractor has complete knowledge and understanding of all existing conditions in which the Contractor will be required to operate and be affected under the conditions of this Contract and that such understanding is included and reflected in the Bid. C. After investigating all existing conditions on the site and surrounding area, Bidders are required to compare such conditions with the Contract Documents. The Bidder should immediately notify the Owner and Engineer, in writing, of any conditions for which the requirements of labor and materials are not clear, or which there may be questions regarding the obligations of the Contract.
