This document constitutes a Request for Proposals for a Professional Service Contract from qualified individuals and organizations to furnish those services as described herein for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Highways. County - Graves Route - KY-121 Item No. - 1-80202.00 Project Description - Address safety and congestion along the KY-121 Bypass corridor User Division - Highway Design Approximate Fee - $500,000 Preliminary Engineering (Lump Sum) Project Funding - STP Funds (Federal Funds) Project Length - Approximately 3.439 miles This corridor needs to have the traffic collisions studied as well as the possibilities for continued growth. This is a 55 MPH corridor that connects to two schools, the back side of businesses, two 65 MPH roads and gets the occasional slow driver that causes other drivers to make unsafe choices. This segment of KY-121 serves as a bypass for Mayfield. There has been an increase in traffic for passengers as well as trucks. With this bypass linking two 65 MPH roads and I-69, it will continue to grow. The Consultant team shall include a DBE Participation Plan with their Response to Announcement to help the Department meet the 11.95% DBE goal established by FHWA.
