The Carmichael BPS was constructed in 1991 and comprises a 6,800m3 single-cell underground reservoir and a booster pumping station consisting of three booster pumps with a firm capacity of 300 L/s. The primary water supply to the facility is via the Collingwood Zone 1 distribution system which ultimately connects to the Towns elevated water tower and water treatment plant. A high-level overview of the scope of the work is presented below. Refer to the Contract Drawings and Specifications for detailed technical requirements of the Work. Establishing fenced construction laydown and erosion and sediment control measures. Site grading, paving, and fencing. Yard piping modifications to hydraulically separate pressure zone 1 into two (2) distinct pressure zones; pressure zone 1 and pressure zone 1 west. Full station process piping and valve replacements and modifications to suit the new function of the booster pumping station and to improve operational flexibility. Pump modifications and replacements for use on new starters. New re-chlorination dosing system. Standby power system upgrades and improvements. Building services upgrades Building mechanical ventilation and heating modifications. Upgraded station incoming power supply. All new station electrical line up. Various miscellaneous electrical and instrumentation upgrades. New PLC and process instrumentation. Miscellaneous state of good repair work. Bid Security required in an amount equal to 10% of the Bidders total bid price (excluding HST) Agreement to Bond - Performance Bond: 50% of the total bid price, and Labour and Material Bond: 50% of the total bid price (excluding HST) Duration of the Work is estimated at one (1) year.
