The work in this Tender is a part of the Province’s flood recovery efforts and mainly consists of the repair of flood damages on the Red River Floodway, vicinity of Winnipeg, MB. For tracking and payment purposes, this work will be separated into three (3) Sections: Section 1: Floodway Channel Cleanup and Remediation At the direction of Manitoba the contractor will form two cleanup teams starting in St. Norbert and working northward to Lockport. Each team will consist of: a minimum 2 Person Labour crew and skid steer for the preparation, collecting and loading of debris in the floodway. There will be a team on either side of the floodway low flow channel. An excavator will be utilized at the Inlet Control Structure to collect debris. Tandems will haul the debris to the nearest disposal site identified on the Floodway Right of Way. The tractor shall mow the debris line after it has been cleaned to mulch what little was not able to be collected. Similarly starting in St. Norbert the Dozer and excavator are to be utilized to grade and trim areas damaged by erosion as directed by Manitoba. The clean-up crews are to help assist in identifying sites requiring remediation as they comb the channel for debris. Section 2: Floodway Trail Repairs At the direction of Manitoba the contractor shall drive the length of the floodway trail repairing damages to the trail and topping up areas where gravel is deficient. This includes leveling gravel at the trail parking lots. Section 3: PTH 59 under Bridge Access Improvements At the direction of Manitoba the contractor shall shape rip rap and place gravel under the bridges to facilitate the passage snowmobiles.
