The purpose of this project is to construct a 5-wire wildlife friendly livestock fence that will be approximately 6,500 feet long. The fence will be located on the Lone Madrone Ranch, a part of Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve. The fence will provide protection of a riparian area and form a secure boundary to contain livestock. Bids for this project shall include the purchase of all materials and the provision of all labor, services, oversight, overhead, and profit to complete the job as detailed below. The fence will be a 5-wire wildlife friendly livestock fence to contain cattle. It will be constructed pursuant to the Technical Specifications included in this package. The new fence will follow along the edge of an existing logging road for a distance. At a certain point (as indicated on Attachment A) the fence will veer away from the road and cross through a scrub-brush area, then make its way up a steep incline where it will meet an existing livestock fence. Approximately 600 feet of the existing fence will be removed and disposed of as a part of this project. The new 5-wire wildlife friendly livestock fence will replace the portion that is removed. Bid will include the purchase and installation of five (5) 14-foot powder-coated pipe gates. Eight (8) pedestrian pipe-style gates will be provided by the District but contractor will install them. Locations of gates will be determined by District representative and contractor. Sealed Bid Proposals shall be publicly opened at the District office at 5050 El Camino Real, Los Altos CA 94022 at 12:00 p.m. on June 7, 2023 Removal of moderate brush encroachment is required for the fence to be installed.
