This procurement is subject to the Directive on Government Contracts, Including Real Property Leases, in the Nunavut Settlement Area (the Nunavut Directive). The solicitation is limited to bids to firms registered on the Inuit Firm Registry (IFR). By means of the Request for Proposal (RFP), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals from bidders for: The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) is undertaking a mapping and assessment project of Canada's north under the GEM-GeoNorth program to increase geologic knowledge for future natural resource exploration, better informed land use, balanced conservation, and responsible resource development. The objective of the activity described in this document is to collect between 1,200 to 1,500 centre-lake bottom sediment and near-surface water samples over an area of approximately 18,000 km2 to provide baseline geochemical data for mineral exploration and environmental studies. In accordance with the Nunavut Directive the following objectives have been included as part of Inuit Benefit Criteria in the Evaluation: Increased participation by Inuit firms in business opportunities in the Nunavut Settlement Area economy; Improved capacity of Inuit firms to compete for government contracts and real property leases in the Nunavut Settlement Area; and Employment of Inuit at a representative level in the Nunavut Settlement Area workforce.
