Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Scope of work: Demolition of identified structures, as needed. Demolition of each structure shall be bid individually. Vendor shall provide all labor, services, equipment, materials, obtain permits, and supplies necessary to demolish the structure on Subject Property. Vendor is to remove all existing structures, driveway, basement, and footings, and fill the basement area with suitable soil. Concrete blocks, masonry, or other rubble from the demolished structures or any organic materials may not be used as fill. All foundation/concrete must be completely removed. All basement or other depressions, holes, or excavations, or ruts shall be cleared of all debris before filling operations are undertaken and the floors of basements, wells, cisterns, septic tanks and laterals or similar installations shall be removed or disposed of pursuant to Jefferson County Department of Health permit instructions. All structures of any nature shall be demolished on the Subject Property and the rubbish and debris removed from the Subject Property for legal disposal to an offsite location in an ADEM certified landfill. If a septic tank is present on Subject Property, Vendor shall provide a copy of Jefferson County Department of Health permit approval for disposing of septic tank. Vendor must be currently certified as an Alabama Safe State Asbestos Inspector to inspect each Subject Property and be responsible for identifying any asbestos containing material and for sending proper Notice of Asbestos Abatement and/or Demolition application to the Jefferson County Health Department Air and Radiation Protection Division and provide Jefferson County with said notice(s). For Subject Properties identified for having some form of asbestos material by laboratory testing, a currently certified Alabama Safe State Asbestos Abatement Vendor must supervise the demolitions and supervise the proper disposal of the refuse. All work shall be performed during the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Vendor will not be compensated for any unapproved work. Vendor is required to cooperate with the County and/or State inspectors who may monitor site activities to enforce compliance with the contract provisions. All demolition permits may be applied for online at permits.jccal.org/citizen access. Vendor is responsible to first notify all applicable utility companies of the demolition prior to beginning work and obtain appropriate permits. Vendor shall provide proof of termination for all existing utilities, such as sewer, gas, electrical services from public, or private utility providers included in each Demolition Permit, which is available at permits.jccal.org/citizen access. Vendor is responsible for obtaining any necessary Erosion Control Permit. Vendor shall disconnect and cap the sewer and water line, fill basement area, coordinate all required disconnects by private or public utility companies and obtain all demolition or other permits associated with these operations and provide copies of required permits to Jefferson County. Vendor is to safely access structures, including garages and detached outbuildings, and remove all waste and debris for disposal. All rubbish and debris found on Subject Property at the start of work and that results from the demolition activity or deposited on the site by others during the duration of the Vendor work shall be removed and legally disposed of by the Vendor who shall always keep the Subject Property and public rights-of-way clear. Upon completion of the work, the Vendor shall remove all temporary construction equipment, salvaged materials, and debris of all kinds leaving Subject Property in a next condition. Trash burning on the Subject Property is prohibited. Construction debris must not become part of any fill placed or left on the Subject Property.
