The Shoal water Bay Indian Tribe is seeking the services of a qualified firm to update our existing Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines. The purpose of this update is to identify and assess natural and man-made hazards, and to develop strategies to mitigate or reduce the potential impacts of these hazards. The contractor will provide but is not be limited to the following services: o Reviewing the existing Hazard Mitigation Plan and identifying any deficiencies or areas that require updating. o Conducting a hazard identification and risk assessment process to identify and prioritize hazards based on their likelihood and potential impacts. o Developing mitigation strategies for each identified hazard, including cost estimates and timelines for implementation. o Coordinating with tribal officials, emergency management personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure that the updated plan reflects local needs and priorities. o Preparing a final Hazard Mitigation Plan document that meets FEMA guidelines and requirements. The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe, a federally recognized Indian Tribe, is located on .5 square mile of reservation land in Tokeland, Washington. The Tribe owns 5,071 acres of off reservation lands mainly adjacent to the reservation but some in the outer Tokeland peninsula area and other across the Pacific County bay areas. SBIT infrastructure includes residential housing, Casino, Tribal businesses, Community Center, Tribal Police/Emergency Management, Education Center, and Wellness Center, and is located at sea level on the Pacific Coast. The Tribal membership consists of 473 members and 109 Tribal community members who currently reside on the reservation. Proposals shall be clearly marked stating- "SBIT Hazard Mitigation Plan Update 2023 Proposal - Do Not Open" Deadline to Submit Questions (in writing) : May 31, 2023 The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe reserves the right to waive any informality in the proposal process and will award the contract(s) based upon the qualifications and experience of a firm that best meets the type of work necessary and that are deemed to be in the best interest of the tribe.
