As of August 30, 2023, a design group has been identified. The City of Alpharetta is seeking a qualified architectural and engineering design consultant firm with experience with fire station design, or similar facilities, to perform facility and systems (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) conditions review and assessment of our six City fire stations. The City's expectation is to have the consultant identify improvement potential to update and modernize our fire stations within the current footprint, where possible, for each fire station in order to comply with Clean Station Concept. Facility expansion may be a consideration where cost and lot space allow. Assessments and recommendations may include architectural and engineering design services to improve the living and working environments; workflow and open floorplan; and building features including public spaces, officer / non-officer areas, storage and maintenance areas, exterior improvements, etc. Our intent is that the renovation of the fire stations take into consideration each site's physical surrounding, needs of our fire personnel, construction and future maintenance costs, long term impact, and future management of the facility, and should provide for the Clean Station Concept as well as maintaining functional fire facilities. Site Visits will only be hosted during Phase 2 with shortlisted consultants. For initial proposal responses, we have provided floor plans for all six fire stations for your initial review. Note that a contract award for this RFP 23-117 may lead to architectural design services additional work for the renovation of one or more of our six fire stations, however no amount of additional work after the assessments is guaranteed.
