Pipestone National Monument Roofing Repair on Visitor Center Notice to Offerors: Funds are being allocated for this requirement. No award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available. An amendment to the solicitation will be posted when the requirement is fully funded. This is a request for quotes. The resulting contract is expected to be a firm fixed price construction contract. The complete specifications, drawings, provisions and clauses are available. Project Description: The work consists of detaching the existing items from a 1971 flat roof. The flat roof was added to connect the Visitor Center and Cultural Center in 1971 and was last fixed in 1988 when they had to replace rotting tongueand groove boards that caused leaking in the vestibules. The roof is constructed with 6x8 beams 5 foot on center, 2x6 Tongue & Groove roof decking, tapered insulation, asphalt paper, asphalt and ballast rock approximately 1200 sq/ft. Remove insulation exposing the double board decking inspecting the double board decking with the COR and replace decking layers as needed known leaks have been documented in the past approximately 240 sq/ft. of the board decking may need to be replaced with both layers of decking. Inspect the 2x10 under the west visitor center roof on the west side of the flat roof for water damage. Cleaning the entire roof from debris, dust dirt from demolition. Install new board decking that may need to be replaced. Installing new 1/2 substrate boards to the decking and installing insulation to manufactures specifications. The existing roof has approximately a 1/4 inch drop every 12 inches. The peak is in the drawings and pictures attached.
