**As ofAugust 10 2023, project was awarded, start date is Mid of June and will be completed by end of this year** Replacement of the Madison Street Bridge over WNY&P Railroad The Owner is the Allegany County Department of Public Works, and the work site is located in the Village of Wellsville in Allegany County New York. The project limits extend from: 96 feet to the southwest of the existing bridge abutment to 37 feet to the northeast of the existing bridge abutment. The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the Plans and described in these Specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: This project includes the complete removal of the existing 3 span superstructure. A fill type retaining wall system will be constructed in place of spans 1 and 3, while span 2 will be replaced with adjacent prestressed concrete hollow slab unit superstructure with a cast-in-place concrete deck and supported on the existing piers. Vertical concrete parapets, pedestrian fencing and sidewalks would be installed on the bridge and approaches. The existing pier caps will be replaced, while the existing pier columns will receive class D concrete repairs. The existing wingwalls and abutments will remain in place, with concrete repairs being made including recapping the existing wingwalls, Class D concrete repairs and structural crack sealing. The bridge approaches will be reconstructed within the project limits. Traffic will be maintained using an off-site detour during construction. This is a Federal Aid Project and NYSDOT Standard Specifications, officially finalized and adopted on May 1, 2023 as posted on the New York State Department of Transportation's website must be followed by the successful Bidder. The DBE goal for this project is 5%.
