Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Clinton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The 36th Avenue South Grading & Culverts Project includes ofgravel access road from S. 54th Street approximately 3100 LF to the west. Construction will generally include approximately 9300 CY ofClass 10 Excavation 10,000 SY ofModified Subbase, 92 LF of 8'x6' Concrete Box Culvert, Seeding and erosion control. The above work shall be commenced as soon as possible after the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The contract must be signed by June 27th, 2023, and the notice to proceed with this project shall be issued on or before June 28th, 2023. Contractor shall have shop drawings approved and box culvert ordered within 15 days of signing the contract. The late start date shall be July 5th, 2023. Working days will be counted from July 5th, 2023. Any work completed before July 5th, 2023 will not be counted against the working days. The contractor shall have 60 working days for substantial completion ofthe project, including completion of all bid items on the project other than final seeding. The Contractor shall have until May 15, 2024 for final seeding and completion of punch-list items. Liquidated damages shall be $500 per day with all other conditions per Special Conditions. Each successful Bidder must furnish a corporate Surety Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bond shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the City of Clinton and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Clinton from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations ofthe Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period off our (4) years from and after acceptance of the Contract. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Clinton, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) ofthe amount of the Contract.
