The work to be done under the contract documents shall consist of the following: The County of Georgetown proposes a dune walkover restoration project in an area that experienced heavy damage during Hurricane Ian. The project site is identified specifically as the beachfront areas designated by Segment: Segment 1 - North Garden City (#1 - #27, including Emergency Access #2), Segment 2 - South Garden City (#28 - #44, including Emergency Access #42), and Segment 3 - Litchfield (#60). This project will repair and/or replace timber dune walkovers and drive overs to provide pedestrian access to the beach across the existing dunes. Any reference to 4 x 4 posts on the drawings, if any, shall be replaced with 6 x 6 posts for quality and stability. Contractor shall furnish all labor, machinery, superintendence, equipment and all materials necessary to complete this project in accordance with the contract documents. This project may consist of, but not be limited to: demolition and removal of designated portions of damaged dune structures, and the labor and materials to reconstruct access per the specifications and requirements in the plans and drawings. The work performed under this Contract shall include but may not be limited to: the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services, whether specifically mentioned or not, that is required to complete the Construction of the Work of the project. Pre-Bid Conference: Independent-On Own Deadline for Questions: Tuesday, May 30, 2023 3:00PM ET Each bid must be accompanied by a certified Bid Bond for an amount equal to five per-cent (5%) of the total base bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the required Contract will be executed within fourteen (14) days after receipt of written notice of formal award of Contract. Bids not including such a bid bond will not be considered. The successful proposer must provide a Performance Bond from a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the State of South Carolina in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract amount, within fourteen (14) days the after receipt of written notice of formal award of the Contract. The successful offeror must provide a Payment and Material Bond from a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the State of South Carolina in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract amount, within fourteen (14) days after receipt of written notice of formal award of Contract. Time is of the essence for this project. All work shall be completed within 30 days from the notice to proceed. Liquidated damages shall incur at an amount of $50 per day thereafter. Georgetown County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities and technicalities in the bid process.
