Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a road / highway in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

This project consists of removal and replacement of failing concrete pavement panels on NW Lower Silver Lake Road at the southbound US-75 ramp terminals. . This project consists of removal and replacement of failing concrete pavement panels on NW Lower Silver Lake Rd. at the southbound US-75 ramp terminals. See Exhibit A, below, for a map of the general project location. The failing concrete pavement panels are located along the center of NW Lower Silver Lake Rd. in the westbound left-turn lane to the southbound US-75 on-ramp. This location experiences a high volume of vehicular and truck traffic, with a soccer complex to the west and a truck stop to the east of this interchange. One lane of traffic in each direction, and all turning movements on and off of the highway ramps, must be maintained at all times during construction. In order to accommodate the turning movements while the failing panels are replaced, a section of the wide, raised median to the west of the ramps needs to be removed and replaced with pavement first. This will occur in Phase 1 of construction, and the failing panels will be removed and replaced in Phase 2. Exact project limits will be marked by the Construction Inspector prior to the beginning of construction. See Exhibit B, below, for phased construction limits. The Contractor shall take care to not disturb the existing pavement markings that are located adjacent to the pavement panels to be removed. Pavement markings are not included with this project
