Water Recovery Facility Dewatering Upgrades. The Work includes the following major items: The project involves demolition of a belt filter press, belt conveyor, sludge pumps, concrete curbs and pads and associated mechanical and electrical items. The work consists of installation of a centrifuge, two screw conveyors, three rotary lobe sludge pumps, piping, access platform, monorail and hoist, overhead door, HVAC ductwork and air conditioning system, and electrical work. CONSTRUCTION CONSTRAINTS Solids Handling Improvements Construction Constraints a. Solids Handling Improvements include but are not limited to: 1) Installation of new centrifuge, process piping work, odor control ductwork modifications, new shaftless screw conveyors, and sludge feed pump replacement. All demolition and new work including structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, etc. required for installation of the new equipment. b. Perform demolition and modifications such that either the existing Belt Filter Press No. 1 or the proposed centrifuge are online and available for use by the Owner at all times to dewater sludge. c. The maximum shutdown duration for replacement of Belt Filter Press No. 2 with the new centrifuge shall be 60 calendar days. Belt Filter Press No. 1 shall remain fully operational during this period. d. The Contractor shall be permitted a maximum shutdown of 4 calendar days to replace the existing belt conveyor with Main Screw Conveyor No. 2. The Contractor shall provide the Owner with a minimum 14 calendar days of advance notice prior to performing this work. e. The Contractor shall schedule the sludge feed pump replacement work such that two of three sludge feed pumps are fully operational at all times. The maximum duration that a sludge feed pump may be out of service for replacement shall be 28 calendar days. Addendum #2 has been posted with clarifications and filed sub bid results. The HVAC filed sub bid has been rejected and is open to all HVAC subcontractors. Contractor Qualification: DCAMM Certificate Note from Associated Construction: site photos have been issued.
