Nature of Work Sealed Proposals are invited by the City for all plant, labor, services, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, transportation and other facilities and things necessary or proper for, or incidental to, the work. The City reserves the right to add or subtract quantities for items bid in this contract. It is highly recommended that no unbalanced bid prices be utilized on this contract. Quantity of work at each location may be small and your bid price should reflect this type of work. 1. General Initially capitalized terms used herein shall have the same meanings specified in the Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials promulgated by the Commissioner of Public Works for the City of Buffalo from time to time, unless the context requires otherwise. 1 ) The following as well as the current Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials, including all addenda, of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works and New York State Department of Transportation shall become a part of and shall apply to this Contract. 2) The Contractor will not proceed with any construction until his proposed work schedule is approved by the Engineer. 3) During construction the Contractor must provide safe access to all driveways whenever feasible. 4) The Contractor is to coordinate project activities with all public and private utilities, other contractors, private industries, the Buffalo Fire Department, the Niagara Frontier 1 ) Item 12.110 Maintenance and Protection of Traffic shall be utilized throughout the contract at all affected areas. 2) Sawcut asphalt concrete and concrete base at all curb removal location 12" from the face of curb. 3) Excavation and replacement of deteriorated sidewalk and curb as directed by E.I.C. 4) Installation of drain tile and drainage structures. 5) Grading and compaction of subgrade. 6) Placement of subbase course. 7) Installation of replacement curb AOBE. 8) Adjustment of all utility/signage structures. 9) Placement of commercial concrete sidewalks; approaches; radii @ 5" depth. 10) Placement of concrete base, asphalt concrete binder, and asphalt concrete top removed along with the curb. 11) Replacement of residential sidewalk @ 4" depth. 12) Restoration of all disturbed areas. 13) Clean-up of job site. 14) Construction work hours shall be between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. by Chapter #293 of the City Charter. 15) The Contractor shall generally limit his work days to eight (8) hours per day. Longer workdays may be permitted as necessary given permission of the E.I.C. 16) Payment Note: Vouchers for above work shall not be made until work site is cleaned and restored to original condition. 17) The City reserves the right to increase/decrease quantities as necessary at "no extra cost" to the City
