The City of Lacey is seeking proposals from qualified providers of sidewalk risk assessment surveys. The survey will be used by the City to prioritize locations for sidewalk repair and replacement. The work to be performed by the consultant consists of conducting a survey of all existing sidewalks within the public right-of-way in the City of Lacey, and identifying locations where the joints between sidewalk panels are uneven resulting in potential trip hazards. The identified trip hazards will be classified into four categories based on the height of the gap: o Priority 1: > 2" o Priority 2: 1.25" - 2" o Priority 3: .75" - 1.25" o Priority 4: .25" - .75" GPS coordinates for all identified hazards should be provided in a KMZ file or a geodatabase. Other potential hazards requiring sidewalk replacement should also be documented (e.g. cracks or spalling). Photo documentation of all priority 1 locations should be provided. The assessment should be completed by November 30th, 2023, so that it can be used to identify locations for the City's 2024 Sidewalk Repair project. In order to ensure that all potential Proposers have the same information and the same opportunity to make their very best proposal, all questions will need to be submitted electronically to cstolber@ci.lacey.wa.us. Questions will be answered as received. All questions should be submitted no later than June 8th, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. PST. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
