As of August 07, 2023, bids received were rejected due to over the badget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. This project in general includes but is not limited to furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and other as included items necessary for the completion of following base bid quantities: approximately 92,317 SF of bridge deck concrete sealer; approximately 431 SY of bridge deck scarification; approximately 431 SY of bridge deck microsilica overlay; approximately 71,909 SF of bridge deck washing; approximately 1 each of bridge washing; approximately 630' of clean and paint ornamental railing; approximately 8 CY of concrete removal; approximately 11 SY of deck slab repair (partial); approximately 35 SY of stone riprap and other miscellaneous items of work in accordance with the Contract Plans and Specifications All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified or cashier's or a bank draft in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Elgin, Illinois, which sum shall be forfeited in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a binding contract and provide a properly executed contract surety bond within 15 days after the contract is awarded by the City Council which is anticipated to be on August 9, 2023. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. This is an Illinois Prevailing Wage Project. It follows the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
