The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SUPERINTENDENT) is seeking a Vendor (VENDOR) to provide hot water extraction carpet cleaning and hard flooring refinishing services for administrative and school sites throughout San Bernardino County. The sites occupied by the SUPERINTENDENT can vary throughout the year. It is likely, based upon changing program and funding needs that the SUPERINTENDENT may expand Its facilities in certain locations, close facilities in other locations. or change the cleaning schedules. The SUPERINTENDENT reserves the right to make any changes necessary to accommodate Its program needs. The RFP shall remain open, valid, and subject to acceptance anytime within ninety (90) days after the RFP opening date and time unless otherwise stipulated. Each proposal submission shall be accompanied by cash or cashier's check payable to the SUPERINTENDENT or a satisfactory bond in favor of the SUPERINTENDENT executed by the Contractor as principal and a satisfactory surety company as surety, in the amount of 5% of the maximum amount proposed. A Performance Bond will be required to be maintained during the life of the contract at the level of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. This RFP is subject to the provisions of Education Code Section 45125.1 and 45122.1. Contractors' employees are required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice where an employee may come into contact with students at any site. The Department of Justice will ascertain whether the employee has a pending criminal proceeding for a violent or serious felony or has been convicted of a violent or serious felony as they are defined in Penal Code Sections 667.5c) and 1192.7c), respectively.
