The objective of this request for proposal is to obtain the services of complete winter maintenance servicing, which includes: snow plowing, sanding/salting and snow relocation for some locations of Simcoe County District School Board owned sites. Contractors are encouraged to visit each site to confirm the conditions and requirements of the site prior to submitting a bid. The Contractor shall respond accordingly to the various conditions that may exist across the Board sites. The selected Bidder(s) is to closely monitor weather conditions twenty-four (24) hours per day and is not to strictly rely on forecasts, but rather real time weather information which should include physical spot checks of actual site conditions. In the interest of safety to children, parents/guardians and staff of the Board and Child Care Centres, the Contractor must have the designated areas clear of snow and ice control applications completed by 6:00 a.m. at the latest, starting no earlier than midnight. Snow clearing and ice control services are not to occur during school hours or at times where the safety of students is at risk unless otherwise authorized by the Board's Central Operations Supervisor. During school hours, operators of snow clearing, and ice control equipment must check in at the Main Office of the school prior to commencing work. If and when contractors are on site during school hours they must fully pause operations if any children are observed in any immediate outdoor areas of the school. No equipment shall operate within 50m (150 ft.) of any occupied play area unless otherwise directed by the Board. Question Deadline 06/05/2023
