Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Sarasota, Florida. Design plans call for the addition of a 60,000-square-foot municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
As of May 2024, the project is in design. Information regarding contractor bidding and construction has not been disclosed. Sarasota County (County) is planning for the design and construction of additions to, and renovations/remodeling of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (“SSO”) Headquarters at 6010 Cattleridge Blvd, Sarasota FL 34232 and the two adjoining County owned parcels. The project will include approximately 60,000 sf of new construction as well as associated reorganization of uses within the existing 72,820 sf office facility and site work. The allocation of functions between existing and proposed buildings as well as an overall campus layout will be developed to maximize Sheriff's Office operations and construction cost efficiency. The project location may be modified by the Board of County Commissioners without invalidating this RPS. Subject to further refinement of the user needs programming, the facility is anticipated to be roughly 60,000 gross square feet of new facilities, and renovations/remodeling of the existing 72,820sf facility. The selected Consultant will reestablish all programmatic requirements with the SSO and will recommend and test alternative strategies for the SSO’s total operational needs through initial design services. It is acknowledged that meeting the total programmatic square footage needs of the SSO are beyond the budget of this Project. The goal of the Project will therefore be to provide a solution that best suits the SSO within the budget. Initial assumptions regarding new vs. renovations may therefore be reasonably modified without invalidating this RPS. Q & A deadline: May 24, 2023 2:30:00 PM EDT
