The work is located at the Silver Lake Water Treatment Facility, 55 Cinder Lane, Pembroke, Massachusetts 02359, and shall generally consist of removing and replacing all support gravel layers, fine sand media and granular activated carbon (GAC) media in all six filters at the facility. In addition, the existing clay block filter underdrains shall be cleaned and inspected. Clay blocks that show signs of substantial cracking or other potential failure shall be replaced with new clay blocks. Also, the existing diffusion manifold that serves the clay underdrain shall be cleaned and the existing baffle plate installed at the entrance to the diffusion manifold shall be removed. The Contract Time shall be 270 Calendar Days commencing twenty days following the Effective Date of the Agreement. Award of the Contract will be contingent on the City's needs, appropriation, and availability of funds. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest of the City.
