Two bids received: TTS Prep LLC - $179,900. Cartee Construction & Utilities - $275,000. The objective of the County is to install a new manhole at an existing lift station and reroute the force main within the lift station site. The work will involve installing a new 6 foot diameter and 12 feet deep lined manhole, rerouting 2 inch and 6 inch force mains from old manhole to new manhole, installing 16" gravity line from existing manhole to new manhole, installing 16" gravity line from lift station to new manhole, connecting the existing 2 inch force main and 6 inch force main to new manhole, removing and replacing 8 in plug valves with new in valve vault, removing the existing piping and extending to front of station, extending 10 inch force main around front of station and connecting back to existing 10 inch force main and installing an 8 inch bypass connection with plug valve. Work to include all necessary trenching, dewatering, coring, waste removal, and safety measures as required by OSHA guidelines. A site visit to review the layout and current conditions can be scheduled with the Water and Sewer Department. The purpose of this request is to solicit written quotations for the installation of one manhole, connection to two existing gravity lines and installation of approximately 100 feet of 16 in force main. Bidder shall post a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Money Order made payable to the Effingham County Finance Department in the amount of 5% of the Bid price. Contractor(s) shall post a Payment/Performance Bond, Certified Check, or Money Order made payable to the Effingham County Board of Commissioners, in the amount of 100% of the Bid price if awarded the contract or purchase. Bond(s) are due prior to contract execution as a guarantee that goods meet specifications and will be delivered in accordance with the contract document. Bond(s) will also guarantee quality performance of services and timely payment of invoices due any sub-contractors.
