Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Temple, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
The intent of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to establish an Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of Structure Contract for the asbestos abatement and demolition of commercial structures located at the old Lengefeld Lumber property location located at 8 N 13th Street. Question Deadline 06/12/2023 at 12:00 PM CT Submit questions in writing through the Bonfire online bidding portal or email to purchasing@templetx.gov. The work shall be completed within 30 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. a. The awarded Contractor shall notify the City of Temple project manager before the start of the demolition to verify the proper scope of work for each property. b. The City of Temple will coordinate the disconnection of electric, water and natural gas utilities prior to the start of demolition. It will be the responsibility of the awarded Contractor to verify that all utilities have been disconnected prior to the start of the demolition. c. The awarded Contractor shall provide any water and electricity needed for the demolition activities. d. The asbestos-containing materials must be removed and properly disposed of by an accredited asbestos abatement contractor prior to commencement of the general demolition work. e. Specifications for the demolition activities for the property location, aerial map, and photographs are provided in Attachment 6.1. f. As reflected in the Building Inspection Report for Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACBM), provided as a separate attachment, approximately 4,200 sf of the 12"x12" floor tile located under the laminate in the showroom was found to contain asbestos. An additional 1,200 sf of asbestos containing ceiling texture/joint compound was located in the mezzanine storage room. The Asbestos Abatement Project Design, provided as a separate attachment, requires onsite air monitoring during the abatement process that will be provided by Austin Environmental, Inc. The air monitoring services will be funded by the City for a maximum of days. The floor tile and ceiling texture/joint compound must be removed prior to demolition utilizing negative pressure, full containment, 3 stage wet decontamination unit, wet methods and engineering controls.
