The City seeks an experienced urban forest professional to review and make recommendations to enhance the Tree Polices and Guidelines Manual, bringing the policy manual to current Urban Forest Best Management Practices. Special emphasis shall be made on how best to address conflicts between trees and infrastructure/utilities. The following provides an outline of the scope of services that the Respondent will be expected to complete: Tree Policies and Guidelines Manual Review Thorough review of the current manual Provide initial comments/revisions Community Input Process Attend up to 10 meetings including community, Committee, Commission, and City Council meetings Community Meeting Facilitate meetings as deemed appropriate by City staff Document community input Analyze community input Provide feedback, answer questions, and provide insight into professional urban forest standard Act as a consultant to staff as necessary Tree Policies and Guidelines Manual Revisions Compile and analyze community input Suggest revisions to the manual based on industry standards and community input Develop a protocol to address trees that conflict with infrastructure and/or utilities All questions, interpretations, or clarifications, either administrative or technical, must be requested in writing and directed to the Contract Administrator for the RFP process, Cari Dillman, Community Services Manager. The successful Respondent must have at least ten (10) years of urban forestry experience.
