Taconic Hills Central School District is seeking Requests for Refinishing of Three Gym Floors beginning on or around July 5, 2023. The contractor shall perform the following tasks: A. Preparatory Work: i. Inspect and evaluate the condition of the existing gym floors. ii. Remove any existing finish, sealer, or wax to ensure a clean and smooth surface. iii. Sand and level any uneven areas or imperfections. iv. Repair or replace any damaged boards, if necessary. v. Clean the entire floor surface to remove any dust or debris. B. Water-Based System Application: i. Apply five (5) coats of a high-quality water-based finish to each gymnasium floor, following the manufacturer's recommendations. ii. Allow sufficient drying time between each coat, as specified by the manufacturer. iii. Ensure a smooth and even application, free from streaks, bubbles, or other defects. iv. Apply additional coats to high-traffic areas for increased durability, as necessary. C. Line Repainting: i. Carefully repaint all pre-existing lines, markings, and court boundaries according to the provided drawings. ii. Incorporate the provided center court logo design accurately and precisely. iii. Use high-quality, durable paint suitable for gym floors, ensuring clear and vibrant lines. D. Cleanup: i. Thoroughly clean the work area after each day's work, removing any debris, equipment, or leftover materials. ii. Dispose of any waste materials and packaging off-site in accordance with local regulations.
