Site work for an educational facility in San Diego, California. Design plans call for site work for a educational facility.

Per the owner, as of April 9, 2024, an architect has been selected and the prequalification of contractors is anticipated to begin in early May 2024. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ........... UC San Diego requests qualifications for selecting an Executive Architect for the Hillcrest Medical Center Redevelopment Phase Three project. The original Hillcrest Medical Center located on the UC San Diego Hillcrest Campus, was built in 1963 and, as such, does not comply with the seismic standards required by SB 1953 and is outdated for the needs of current academic medical centers. Despite these physical limitations, Hillcrest Medical Center has been able to provide outstanding patient care by optimizing existing facilities and leveraging the skills of the highly talented care teams. However, to prepare Hillcrest Medical Center for the coming decades of operation serving the surrounding community and San Diego County, a new hospital is necessary. The proposed Hillcrest Medical Center Redevelopment Phase Three is expected to include a Hospital (HCAI 1, Level One Trauma Center), parking structure, road improvements, a central plant, and additional campus redevelopment. The estimated construction cost is between $1,600,000,000 and $2,400,000,000 at CCCI 11,978. The University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs), subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The selected consultant shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each candidate firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
