Site work and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in New York, New York. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
As of 10/3/23, per Owner, project postponed. Amtrak is initiating the procurement to select a construction contractor for the rehabilitation and renewal of Dock Bridge (the Project), which will be delivered via the design-bid-build method. Dock Bridge (the Bridge), opened in 1935, is a moveable twin span lift bridge that carries six lines of track and crosses the Passaic River at Newark, New Jersey. Dock Bridge is used by Amtrak, NJ Transit, and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PATH) trains. This Project will implement a series of improvements that together will bring Dock Bridge to a state of good repair, improve train schedule reliability, and extend its useful life by seventyfive (75) years. The Project consists of the following major construction elements that will be performed by the construction contractor selected by Amtrak A two-step procurement will be used to deliver this Project. The first step will be the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to invite interested firms to submit their qualifications to perform the construction work. Firms shortlisted in the first step will be eligible to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage. The RFQ package is scheduled to be released in July 2023 via Amtrak’s Procurement Portal (https://procurement.amtrak.com).
