Site work and paving for a civil project in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Stafford Avenue Reconstruction Project involves improvements to the segment of Stafford Avenue between Emancipation Highway and William Street. The scope of work will involve reconstruction of various portions of the roadway where the pavement is failing and overlaying the entire street segment. The project also involves the installation of three sets of mid-block traffic calming devices at appropriate locations. The City has been awarded funds from the States Revenue Sharing Program administered through VDOT. This is a 50/50 cost share program in which the City is responsible for half of the total project costs, and the State is responsible for the other half. This project was recommended for funding in the State's proposed Six Year Improvement Program for FY2023 and was approved by the Virginia Commonwealth Transportation Board. Engineering/Design was budgeted for in FY2023 and construction in FY2024 As of May 22, 2025, project is under construction and part of the FY25 Asphalt and Concrete Rehabilitation Program. Contractor identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
