Site work and paving for a civil project in High Point, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

Project Bids are invited for work as follows as well as all related miscellaneous work: This contract consists of providing personnel, equipment and materials to relocate Washington Street; basically including, the installation of approximately 1200 linear feet of 15 inch reinforced concrete storm pipe, 26 drainage structures, 100 linear feet of 6" Ductile Iron Water Pipe, 420 linear feet of 8" Ductile Iron Water Pipe, 1500 linear feet of 12" Ductile Iron Water Pipe, 260 linear feet water laterals with 12 meter setter and boxes, 1290 linear feet of 8" sanitary sewer pipe, 50 linear feet of sewer laterals and associated appurtenances, 2,200 cubic yards of unclassified excavation for roadway relocation including approximately 1600 tons of various grade asphalt, 4000 linear feet of curb and gutter, along with and other various items associated with the contract plans and specifications. This work is being done for the City of High Point's Transportation Department. All miscellaneous work related to the above. Quantities and major work items are more thoroughly described herein. General contractors are notified that "An Act to regulate the Practice of General Contractors", Section 87-1 through 15, ratified by the General Assembly of North Carolina, on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. The Contractor shall have 240 consecutive calendar days from the Contractor's receipt from the Architect/Engineer or the City of a written Notice to Proceed to achieve final completion of the Work. City staff will be available to discuss the project and answer pertinent questions including MWBE requirements. All prospective bidders are urged and cautioned to attend so as to prepare bids based upon a full understanding of project specifications. Contract documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, are on file and may be reviewed at the website. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City Council unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of High Point. In lieu of making the deposit as above provided, such bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds; conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the City of High Point upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. This deposit shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, as may in the judgment of the City, serve its best interest and the City further reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted. In accordance with the Federal "Americans with Disabilities Act" (the Act), the City of High Point will not discriminate against individuals, and will not do business with vendors who discriminate against such individuals in violation of the Act.
