Renovation of a municipal facility in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The selected community kitchen operators will be required to work closely with the Department of Housing and Community Development. Community kitchens selected under this RFP will be expected to include the following services 1. Operate a centralized facility that is open to the public, near residential neighborhoods, and within walking distance of public transportation, from which food can be stored, prepared, and consumed. Respondents should include a descriptive narrative, photographs, site plans, maps, and other graphics to describe the proposed use and operations of the site. Respondents should furnish evidence of site control, including, but not limited to, a deed, lease, or licensing agreement. 2. Source, procure, and coordinate the delivery, storage, safe handling, and preparation of food products, with a focus on sourcing and preparing foods grown in Chelsea and the surrounding communities when appropriate. 3. Participate in relevant City and regional procurement efforts, including partnerships with City and statewide food and farm businesses to offer culturally desirable foods for processing and preparation.
