Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Merritt, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Monck Provincial Park is Located 22 Kilometers East of Merritt, BC. This public Facility consists of camping and day use facilities. As part of BC Parks' plan to improve current and future water services, upgrades are planned for the potable water system at Monck Park. The upgrades include construction of a new water treatment building, as well as an updated water treatment and backwash disposal system. The existing water system is currently in use and will continue to be in service until Sept 30, 2023 when upgrades to the existing treatment process can commence. Works excluding interface with the existing water system can be delivered starting August 1, 2023 with connections to existing and upgrades to the existing water treatment building completed after the water system is taken seasonally offline on October 1. To facilitate the installation of the new treatment building, a temporary bypass transmission line will need to be installed prior to commencement of works in August 2023. This will need to be coordinated with the Park Operator to ensure that there is not a disruption of service. The bypass infrastructure will require removal at the completion of the operating season. The Scope of Works and Services will include: Backwash disposal system: Supply and install 25 m of 50 mm HDPE pressure pipe (Gold901 or approved equivalent) Precast concrete 600-gallon oil/water separator Drainage dry well Water Treatment System: Construction of new concrete and cinder block building (footprint of 3.1 m by 5.8 m) Dismantling and removal of puck chlorinator and turbidity meter Supply and install three "green sand" media pressure filters with automated control valves, Fleck or approved equivalent, c/w valves, and Schedule 80 PVC piping. Supply and install sodium hypochlorite dosing system. Supply and install an ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system. Supply and install magnetic flow meters. Supply and install a chlorine analyzer with feedback control to the dosing pump. Supply and install a tankless water heater. Supply and install an emergency safety shower and eyewash station. Supply and install electrical components Complete the necessary testing, adjustments and system disinfection Provide written startup procedures and staff training Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca Award is subject to final approval.
