The City of Bristol, Tennessee (City) is located within Sullivan County in northeast Tennessee and is contiguous to the state line which it shares with the City of Bristol, Virginia. The City occupies a land area of approximately thirty-three (33) square miles and contains a resident population of about 27,000 people. Depending upon the type of service (Water; Wastewater; Stormwater; and Solid Waste), the number of utility customers served by the City varies from 11,000 to 13,000. Within Water Services, the City operates and maintains a primary water treatment plant (WTP); approximately 280 miles of 1-inch to 36-inch diameter water transmission and distribution pipelines; eight (8) remote booster pump stations; and eleven (11) storage reservoirs/tanks. Wastewater Services consists of approximately 400 miles of collection, trunk and interceptor lines; and ownership and operation of a 16MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). With this document, the City is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for Utilities Rate and Fee Studies for its services including Water, Wastewater, Stormwater and Solid Waste respectively.
