Site work for a water / sewer project in San Jose, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project generally involves multidisciplinary activities (Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) in and around the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF). The work includes pumping stations, buried and exposed piping, demolition of existing structural, mechanical, and electrical equipment and appurtenances, excavation, backfill and compaction, and associated electrical and controls hardware, and software programming. To facilitate the work described above, surveying, demolition, clearing and grubbing, excavation, trenching, backfill and compaction of earthwork materials is required. The work requires both new piping which will be connected to the existing piping networks, as well as removal and replacement of some piping. Because of these interconnections, close coordination with the city’s construction management and operations and maintenance divisions will be required. Coordination with external agencies (San Jose Municipal Water, South Bay Water Recycling, City of Santa Clara) will be required. The work requires construction activities in existing, active facilities and traversing existing roads and the use of both public and private roadways.
