GENERAL: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior, anticipates issuing a solicitation for the project described below. This is a pre-solicitation notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time. Specific instructions on submitting proposals will be contained in the solicitation documents. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around 6/19/23. The entire solicitation package, including all attachments, will be available electronically at www.beta.sam.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. PROJECT SCOPE: The National Park Service (NPS) Mammoth Cave National Park is seeking qualified firms or organizations to remove and replace an asphalt roof on Building 055 Concession Warehouse. The work to be accomplished is the cyclic maintenance and repair of the roof and replacement of the shingles on Building 55, located at Mammoth Cave National Park, Mammoth Cave, KY 42259. Details of work: Asphalt Shingle/Roofing Removal: Evaluate the existing roofing system and determine if it has the structural ability to support the new roof. If there are any concerns about the existing roof's structural ability to support the new roof, the Contractor will notify the Contracting Officer immediately. It will be the Contractors responsibility to tarp area of roof where structural damage is noticed to protect the interior of building. Contractor will remove the existing roofing material and protective underlayment. This includes leaks, flashing, and/or damaged materials on the exterior of the buildings. Roof Decking Repair: The Contractor is responsible of repair for up to 320 square feet of deteriorated roof decking. Flashing: Contractor will use Stainless steel Step Flashing. in replacement of old flashing re-moved. Thirty pound felt roofing underlayment listed in section 2-2 submittals that is ap-proved equal by Contracting Officer. Asphalt Shingle Installation: Contractor will install new 30lb felt, in accordance with manufacturer's Contractor will install new 3-tab asphalt architectural shingles in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. PROCUREMENT TYPE: The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract to meet this requirement. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition has been set-aside for small business concerns.
