As of November 4, 2024, this project is in the design phase. Bidding and construction should take place in early 2025. Previous solicitation listed below for reference: Dane County is looking for engineering services to provide comprehensive campus HVAC controls upgrades. Specific buildings and areas to include are the Exhibition Hall, Arena, Coliseum and the Administrative Building on the Alliant Energy Center Campus, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI. The goals for this project are to review existing HVAC controls infrastructure and provide information to provide complete replacement of an upgraded and expandable system. Once a scope of work has been defined the A/E will proceed upon direction of Dane County Public Works to design a new HVAC controls system and perform Construction Administration services for the project. No performance bond is required for this project. Study existing controls systems condition including available drawings, and other documents that illustrate the present condition of the HVAC and controls system throughout the Alliant Energy Center Campus. Consultant shall field verify all existing controls to effectively complete available drawings. Study will address each building individually and provide for complete HVAC controls to replace and upgrade existing system. New system front end will be Niagara based with specifications being used in Alliant Energy Center Pavillions providing guidance on new infrastructure. Any HVAC system Code required communication to fire protection or smoke controls to be included into design of new system. Deliverable to consist of existing conditions summary and opinions of probable to upgrade systems along cost for each individual building. Refer to existing drawings for dimensions, layout, and work location for a (3) Requestfor-Bids package. Define a scope of work with County to establish important issues and priorities. Prepare on-site condition assessment with scheduled access, dates, and times with County. 1. Design & construction services a) Design will provide options for advanced controls sequences to improve energy efficiency. b) Design will account for expandability of systems and zoning in Exhibition Hall 2. Dane County shall select the project from the options / recommendations presented in the Phase 1 Study for each annual construction cycle. The engineering design team shall develop Construction Documents for each annual cycle, as directed by Dane County. 3. Adhere to Dane County Green Building Policy and Advanced Buildings design & construction techniques & guidelines in every phase of the Work (from Schematic Design through Commissioning / Start-Up). 4. Energy Star certification may become a goal of this project. 5. Dane County will review, provide input & make modifications throughout the design process. 6. Provide cost estimates at the completion of Design Development phase and 95% Construction Documents phase.
