Renovation of a medical facility in Dover, Delaware. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The objective of this project is for the Contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to replace the Dental Clinic's AHU at Dover AFB Dental Clinic, Dover AFB, Delaware, in accordance with all Federal, State, and Installation codes and laws, to include preparation of a design as discussed below. The construction of this project will be completed in a fully operational dental clinic and will be required to accommodate the dental clinic's operational mission. Building 304 is an approximately 16,000 SF Dental Building. The Contractor shall design an air distribution system that meets the current UFC 4-510-01, UFC 3-410-01- Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Systems, and all applicable section of the UFGS - Division 23. All new equipment shall provide all necessary air changes, exhaust, fresh air intake and humidity control (30-60 percent) to meet or exceed present codes. All new equipment shall be properly heat load calculated and sized for proper filtration. The new equipment shall report back to the BAS system and installed in such a manner to provide greatest ease of maintenance. The Contractor shall utilize Variable Air Volume (VAV) air distribution with appropriate reheat cycle and follow all current UFC 4-510-01 requirements. All new equipment and VAV terminal units shall be installed with new controls, isolation valves, circuit setters, strainers, and all appurtenances. New controllers shall be tied into the existing BAS. Include all necessary graphics and animation reflecting status for each VAV; provide a list of available points that can be monitored for value consideration as part of the solution proposal (e.g., outside air CFM, supply air CFM, all associated alarms, calculated air changes per hour, occupancy status, zone pressure in relationship to surroundings, zone temperature and humidity, etc.). General purpose exhaust fans (new and existing) shall be integrated to operate with and in concert with the new air handling unit (AHU) to maintain positive air pressure in the clinic in relation to outdoors. Additionally, the Contractor shall add controls to any existing exhaust fans that are not currently controlled by the BAS. All HVAC systems must be integrated into the BAS per UFC 3-410-02 and applicable UFC codes to optimize functionality and energy efficiency. Proprietary controls systems are subject to Government approval per UFC requirements. Computer simulation software must calculate loads in accordance with UFC 1-200-02 requirements.
