Site work and new construction of a library in Terrebonne, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 14,050-square-foot, two-story above grade library; and for site work for a library.
Construction of a new library in Croisée urbain sector of Lachenais district in Terrebonne to replace the existing Saint-Charles library. The library will house numerous facilities, including a café, a collaborative manufacturing workshop, an industrial-style kitchen, virtual reality rooms, an art gallery and multi-purpose spaces. Various reading areas will be scattered inside the library as well as on the terrace and outdoor spaces. TIMELINE: The project is included in the current ten-year Library Development Plan of the City. The awarded professional consultant has submitted a functional and technical program of the project that is now under review at the owner. Final scope, budget and timelines of the project development are not finalized. The project will be followed if/when it proceeds to a design stage. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
